This formula is 100% anhydrous. We recommend the use of a dispersing agent to integrate the Nixalin™.
Nixalin™ is a cosmetic active ingredient derived from the bark of the white birch tree. Rich in betulin, this bioavailable ingredient helps restore and protect the skin barrier. It can be added to any finished product intended for application to the skin, cosmetic or otherwise, for the greater benefit of the end user.
Nixalin™ is carefully extracted from the by-products of Canadian industry, and therefore derived from supra-recycling; Terlys does not cut any trees to extract its ingredients. It offers numerous benefits to users of finished products that contain it, while enabling formulators of such finished products to reduce the list of ingredients that go into them.
As an ingredient, Nixalin™ has the following characteristics:
- Nixalin™ tolerates temperatures up to 100°C
- Nixalin™ will neither affect pH nor be affected by pH in the formulation process (stable between pH 2 and pH 14)
- Nixalin™ has excellent rheological properties
This formula increases the value of our ingredient to 2%.
